Welcome to the Noel Mignon Spooktacular Blog Hop! This will be a two day event, so be sure to join us both Saturday and Sunday to join in on all the fun.

Each member of the design team has created a fabulous tag with a letter featured prominently on it; collect a letter from each blog and unscramble them to discover a word.

The first stop on the hop is the NoelMignon LO/Project blog. So if you are stopping here first, please head back over there and start over to be sure you collect all the letters.
Be sure to leave comments along the way.... once you've collected all the letters and think you've unscrambled the word, email Virginia at 2blackflipflops at gmail dot com with your entry. We'll draw one random name from the correct entries for a fun My Mind's Eye Halloween prize pack!

The Hudson Valley kit goes up for sale bright and early Tuesday morning! Get your order in early, as this one has the lines that have been getting a lot of attention since they debuted at CHA, and it won't last long!

Well, that's all folks! I'm the last stop on the hop! Hope you had lots of fun and good luck on winning that prize pack - oooooohlaaalaaaa!!!

Hello friends!! I have had so much fun playing with the Something Wicked kit (hurry, there's only a few left!) and wanted to share an idea I had for some cute little treat bags. These are made with kraft glassine bags and lots of yummy papers and embellies from the kit.

The first thing I do is to determine the size of the bag. The bags I had were just a little too tall for what I wanted to do, so I just folded under the bottom of the bag. No biggie.

Then I made a base for it to sit in by cutting two pieces of paper. The first needs to be about 1/4" wider than whatever bag you are using and as tall as you want. The second needs to be 1/4" larger than the first piece on the right and left sides and bottom. Score this line on all three sides and fold so that you can glue the first and second pieces together.

After the base is made, you can cut a circle in the top, and add whatever decorations you like.

Here is a cute little monster bag with a black bow glued right to the glassine bag.

I LOVE the Fancy Pants journal spots sheet - it makes for great treat bag covers!

Layer lots of fun elements up and personalize to whomever the recipient will be, if you like.

And here's the final product! I'll fill these all with some yummy treats and give them to friends on Halloween. FUN FUN FUN!!

That's all for today!

Mini Madness is Coming!!

I am so excited to be teaching my second class over at!!
We are going to have so much fun learning all kinds of different techniques to make your own mini albums - bindings, materials, long-term and event-focused, project types, and just general awesomeness!!
I am going to be using lots of different materials - many from the upcoming Hudson Valley kit that Noel will be releasing for November, and believe me, you're not going to want to miss it!!

There's nothing I find more satisfying to make than minis, whether they are completely made by hand or start with a pre-fab book. I'll be covering both types, but of course, you will always put your unique spin on it. We'll be doing a little mixed-media, a little stitching, a little padding, a little of everything!!

This will be a great opportunity to make some fun albums for yourself or gifts for friends and family.

I'll be giving out some awesome printables for not only theme albums, but also address books and calendars - you won't want to miss it!!

To register, just email me at and I'll get you all set up with access to our own private classroom at the message boards. Once there you will find everything you need to get started - shopping list, printables, and prep info, so you will be ready to go on November 7th!!

Class fee is only $15
Noel will be giving away a $10 shop credit to one lucky student!
Be sure to sign up soon, and pre-order your Hudson Valley kit as soon as possible - go to the message board to see sneaks you won't want to miss!!

Oh, and did I mention that you also want to hop on over to the Noel Mignon layout blog for the Spooktacular Week of Halloween project ideas the DT is showing? Today is my day, and I have had soooo much fun playing with the Something Wicked kit and can't wait to make some more goodies to share!

That's all for today!

Halloween is coooooooming!!

Are you ready for it? I loooooove October and Halloween and the first beginnings of Fall, and the apple cider and the smells of spices and all things baking in my oven. YUM!

I have been doing lots of playing with my Something Wicked kit from (hurry hurry to get yours - only 9 left!!) and I am seriously loving it! There's more than just Halloween in there, folks - Noel mixed in some great pieces that will work great for general fall layouts and the bits and pieces baggie is to die for!

I went to Sonic a couple of weeks ago to get some Route 44 Cherry Limeade's for the boys and got a drink carrier to hold everything in, and the second I saw it empty, I KNEW I had to make something with it! It was just calling my name!

So I did. And I love it!

And it was easy! I just measured and traced each side and cut pieces of the Pink Paislee House of Three papers to fit. I distress inked the edges of all the pieces with Pumice Stone Distress Ink by Ranger and glued them down. Then I  made the little banner piece using some of the burlap trim from My Mind's Eye that Noel put in the Study Hall kit and made  the title piece using a sticker from the Glitz stickers in the Something Wicked kit. It is at this point that I fell in love with my glue gun all over again!

Once I finished with the outside of the carrier, I added four big Ball jars with just the outside part of the lid screwed on. These happen to be pretty old, so they have this awesome distressed look to them. I wrapped the outside of the lid with some black masking tape (thank you, Mom!) and then tied some natural twine around to hold the tag and mini buttons in place.
I was going to finish there and fill all the jars with candy, BUT THEN I remembered I had all these awesome plastic wands from SRM and I thought that they would be waaaaay more perfect to fill with candy and then put them in the jars. This instantly became my favorite party favor EVER. I used a little more black masking tape, jute and buttons to jazz them up, and then added a couple of tags from the We R Memory Keepers chipboard stickers in the kit. The secret there is to coat the backs with baby powder to "destickify" them. The tops of the tubes also just happen to be the same size as the MME brads that are in the kit, so I snipped off the prongs on the brads and hot glued them to the top of the lids and Ohemgee!!!

So that's the Halloween Treat Carrier! I hope you can use this idea for your scary party or maybe to send with the kiddies to their class party, filled with enough tubes for each student in the classroom? So many different ways to use it, and this concept can be made to fit other holidays, too! Can't you just see candy canes in the jars at Christmas? LOOOVE!!

That's all for today, friends.
