So I got a call from my Mamala today asking if I answer the questions I get in my post comments. To which I replied, "Um, yeah..." with I will admit, a bit of an eye roll. I mean, I'm not Ali Edwards. I can manage to answer my own mail. But then she explained that the reason she asked is because you all can't see them in the course of the comments. To which I responded with, "..."
It never even occured to me.
I must look like I just ignore all the comments and questions I get!
So, just so's ya know, I DO respond to all comments (which come to me in email form) and I really appreciate each comment I get. But I definitely am going to repost any answers I might email out back here, as well, just in case anyone else might have the same questions.

So that's all for now. PSA over.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled blogging.

And since this has become my normal 'good morning' from Izzy, I figured I'd leave you with this nice little tidbit.

This is my life the last several days. Hence the reason for my blogging hiatus. Tea and toast, tissue and tv. And for me, this is torture. Especially since my view from the couch looks right at the living room where the half-finished chevron quilt is sitting, just waiting for me to finish. Ugh.

Just a reminder, the deadline to enter the giveaway is tomorrow! Be sure to get your entries in for your chance to win all of that lovely crafty painty stencily goodness!!

I bid you achoo.

At this moment very moment I am celebrating my husband’s 28th birthday and am simultaneously realizing that we’re getting OLD. And yes, blah blah blah, I know that we’re not really old, but the downhill slope to thirty is starting to kick in, and I have to say, I’m equal parts excited and terrified! It means we actually have to HAVE those kids, which also means we have to finish the house and landscape, which means that I need to get out and earn about a million and a half dollars. Hmmmmmm......

So on that shiny happy note, I'm off to make a yummy meal and get this house cleaned up for the fam coming over to celebrate!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Well, I was supposed to have a post ready to go for you today, but alas, life intervened.
And in a good way, too, so I can't even really bitch about it. ha!

I've spent the week cleaning, playing with the rent-a-kidlets, making a two-part video for Faber-Castell Design Memmory Craft, and then more kidlets, followed by an awesome Thai dinner with the girlies last night. Aaaaaand theeeeeen Kels (the college roomie) is coming today for her first foray into scrapbooking and then some furniture building tomorrow. I can't even tell you how happy I am!!!

Um yeah, I just talked to her, and apparently we have our weekends mixed up. She's coming NEXT weekend! So that gives me the rest of the day to do nothing and then I can be productive tomorrow!

I must say, I expected more entries for that little Freebie Friday prize pack! I feel like a goon for the link not working (which of course I didn't know about for three days because it worked perfectly fine on my end!) and I find that I must again tell my family and close friends who shy away from entering Freebie Fridays because they think it might not look totally fair (which it so IS FAIR) ENTER!! Mkay?

So that's it for today.

But here's a sneaky peeky picture of my two-day video tutorial post this weekend over at the Design Memory Craft blog. Be sure to check it out! And be sure to enter for the Freebie! And if you're thinking, "But I don't DO mixed media," stuff it - take it as a sign that you need to START! ;) Oh, and I also just found out today that they are going to be giving me a HUGE giveaway in September that you WILL NOT want to miss out on! YAY!

Happy Friday, you guys - have a GREAT weekend!

For the love of baaaaahh!!!

Thanks to Linh C., for letting me know that despite the fact that I already changed the freebie video from private to public once, Youtube decided that I wasn't really serious about it, and left it as public.

Insert four-letter expletive here.

Anywho, the video is officially public and viewable, so leave those comments for your chance to win that nice little stack of goodies!

Oh, and be sure to also check out the Faber-Castell Design Memory Crafts Blog for lots more inspiration. And double also, be extra sure to check it this Saturday and Sunday for a video tutorial by me!

Happy Hump Day!!!

It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiddddaaaaaaaaayyy!!!!!
I'm a bit excited, can you tell?
Today I am at the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara helping my good friend, Scrapbook Grammie and having a blast! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and say hi!

I was able to carve out a little time this weekend to make a tag and video tutorial to go with it. Can I just say that it was the most comical monkey bar setup the way I had to rig my camera? And by camera, I do of course mean iPhone, because that's all I use now. It's the least professional confession I could make, but I gotta say, even if I were handed the best, most professional camera, I would probably just ditch it for the convenience of my phone...

But I digress.

Here is the tutorial. Hope you like it!
(Ignore the cut up slick board that I have demolished. Ick, that looks really bad!)

And here's the end result of the Project Life card I made using the extras.

And noooow, the freebie!

Thank God for the actual working wifi at my in-law's house!! Ours moves at a pace that even snails scoff at.
Leave a comment to enter, repost to all the usual places for extra entries, and I'll leave this Freebie open until Thursday the 31st, and will announce the winner on Friday, the 1st of September!
September... Yikes. I need to get started on Christmas projects!!

Have a great weekend!

Monday, August 6, 2012

After last week I needed some serious feel-good shopping, so I went to Jo-Ann's to wander for an hour and a half, and ended up with a TON of fabric. I decided that what I needed to do is make a quilt. But not just any quilt. A chevron quilt. And so the cutting and then eventual recutting of the additional fabric I had to buy commenced.

It took for friggin' ever to get it all cut, but I am so loving the combo of patterns and colors, and can't wait to see how it turns out!! It may just end up being a Christmas gift for one of you... Maybe....

My other destination for splurging was Two Peas and I came away with some cute new My Mind's Eye paper and stickers and stamps, some gorgeous washi tape from Freckled Fawn, and a Studio Calico chevron stencil and Buttercup Mister Huey's.

And I feel better.

As sad and pathetic as that is...

Big kisses!!!! muuuuuuaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!

So I am late in telling you all about our fun and games at Scrapgrlz last Saturday in San Jose!! Let me tell ya, we had a great time meeting all the girls and getting our hands suuuuper messy!

There's Christine working on two canvases at once, and rockin' em both! What a great student - super open and willing to try all kinds of fun stuff!! Don't you love her choice of colors?

We used all kinds of fun products - Pitt Big Brush pens and Gelattos from Faber-Castell, Inka Gold and Pearl Pens from Viva Decor, Dylusions Sprays from Ranger, Modeling Paste from Golden, and Acrylic Inks from Liquitex. TONS of goodness!!

We played with rubons, tissue, vintage wallpaper, stamps and stencils to create amazing texture and depth to our canvases

There's Lauren working hard on her mermaid canvas. Do you see her hair? Yeah, I want it...

Shell's mum Helen joined in the fun, too! Look at how amazing her canvas turned out!!

I love the texture she added with the heart and how great she blended all the colors!! So cute!

On the way back home we decided the only thing to save our good humor was to first have a drink, then follow it with food loaded with carbie goodness. Enter the cream of mushroom soup at The Buckhorn. It's the best. We were in heaven. Well, I was in heaven. Mom was just plain tipsy after her citrus mojito. Which is, incidentally the best drink EVER if you ask her. And even though we only planned on soup, we ended up with big fat juicy steaks, too, because afterall, it's The Buckhorn, and not eating some sort of meat when you're there is just wrong.

And now for the winner of the Freebie Friday set of scrappy goodies....

Debra Hudson!!
What a great giveaway! Thank you so much for the chance to win! I have had a "crafty" summer so far. I have to have minor back surgery soon so I have been off work for a while. If it wasn't for scrapbooking I would be going crazy! Have a great day and thanks for the wonderful inspiration!
