For my project I have chosen to scraplift this layout from her:

Here is my inspired project:

I like the simplicity of her inspiration layout - just one photo, kind of a triangle of embellies, and some subtle splattering. So this is how my layout turned out and I love it. Fast, simple, done!!

Thank you so much for joining us in this blog hop to celebrate Scrappin' For Kenzie's 1 year Blogaversary!
Your next stop is Faith!
Just in case you get lost along the way here is your master list ;)

Project Life

January

As promised, I am here to share what I've got so far in my PL12 drawer. And I've got to say, this has been the most relaxing, easy-to-do scrappy endeavor I have attempted in quite a while. This has been such a great month for me - I've been able to do some much-needed relaxing, while also being able to mix in lots of little projects around the house, time with good friends and family, and let's not forget CHA, shall we?

So here it goes from the top:

I have wanted to do this project for so long, and have put it off because of how much time I thought it would take, but I have to say, I am sooooo pleased at how it is going so far! It's the perfect format for me - large enough for a full size picture, but small enough that it doesn't have to take more than a few minutes per page if I don't want it to.
See you at the end of the month for February's month in review!
xoxo

Just to give you an idea...

Of my life with Eric....

Yes, that's a tractor in my backyard. Gooooooood moooooooorning!!!!! And to give you a little perspective, those tires are taller than me. Which isn't hard, but still...

I just love it when on a Tuesday Eric decides to pave a driveway from the front drive to the workshop, on Wednesday digs out the base, and Thursday gets the entire thing finished.

I mean, really? I can't even get my hair washed and straightened in the same day...

So that's my life. Just thought you should know...

Just Checking In...

Okay, so can I just say, it has been a great month of being MIA from this place - a month full of a little more time for me, doing some projects around the house, visiting with friends and family, and adding some relaxation to the to-do list instead of scrapping.

Now, that doesn't mean I haven't been playing with paper. I have been working on my Project Life (PL12 for short) and I am so enjoying the hour or so that I spend on it every four or five days. The format is small and easy to complete, and the overall effect is super cute! I'm going through scraps and all those little journaling spots that get tucked away never to be seen again.

I had originally planned my format based on the recipe box that I found at a thrift store, and cut all my pieces to fit perfectly, at 6.5"x4.25", which was a bummer size to cut, but oh well. THEN I found the most awesome sets of metal library drawers at our old firehouse rummage sale, and I knew I had to use them for this. They are a little smaller than the recipe box, so I sucked it up and redid all sixteen days of PL12 I had so far. A bummer to do, but I think it'll be well worth it in the end.

Here's another project I did today.

Yep, that's just an old mailbox that I got a couple of weeks ago for a whole $5. I've been wanting to make this ironing board hanger for like, ever, but never got to it. I've also been wanting to find a cute little box for my laundry sheets so I don't have to look at the ugly paper box they come in. What's the saying? Two birds, one mailbox? Something like that...

It's been a little bit of a laundry themed week, actually. I made a big batch of detergent that I store in these adorable bottles from Crate & Barrel. I have been making my own detergent for about six months, and I LOVE it! I was a little nervous that it might not work as well as the store-bought detergent that I had been using, but it's just fine, and I can add any essential oil that I want to make it smell any way that I want. Though, to be honest, I am totally fine with the basic 98 cent bar soap smell.

AAAAAAND finally got around to painting this cheapo canvas that I got for a whole $3 at Home Goods. Gotta love Pinterest and the infinite list of quotables they provide for a girl with a boring laundry room.

Stay tuned - Project Life is coming up soon!
